Foster Parent Programme

Fostering is a way to improve the chances of abandoned animals with special needs in a caring home environment, with a view of helping them find permanent, loving homes once they become suitable for adoption.

What do you need to be a 'Good' foster?

To be a Dog Foster:

1) Basic daily needs such as walking and feeding
2) Help teach the dog basic manners in a friendly disciplined manner
3) Bring your foster dog to adoption events and medical appointments, and introduce your foster dog to potential adopters
4) Give your foster dog a lot of love and affection!

To be a Cat Foster:

1) Provide safe, clean and warm indoor environment
2) Bring your foster cat to medical appointments, and introduce your foster cat to potential adopters
3) Give your foster cat a lot of love and affection!

How long will a foster animal be stays with me?

Foster stays are flexible and can range from a few days to a few months. It depends on the specific situation of each animal and each foster home.

What support does KRF provide?

We take care of medical expenses provided with bills. We’re here along the way to support you, and always a text message or phone call away.

Our Foster Coordinator

Our volunteer Foster Parent Coordinator assists with all foster animal placements and programme communication.

Parul Sharma has helped the KRF improve and expand "Foster Programme". She has helped bring promising and responsible foster parents on board, and looking after their needs. She ensures that the quality of foster care is maintained at a high standard and appropriate foster parents for animals with different needs are found in a timely manner.
